About Us
Old Paths Farm is a fifth generation, family owned Sesquicentennial Farm located eight miles north of Aledo, Illinois, just off of U.S. Highway 94. The owners are David and Eileen Sipes, who are proud of the farm’s heritage and love to share it with those who visit. We encourage our community to share practices of good health through eating wholesome foods. We promote land stewardship to preserve our fertile farm soil. You are invited to visit our farm located Just outside of Hamlet, Illinois, and see why we love living on the rich farm grounds of Old Paths Farm.
Our History
The original homestead was established approximately 1860 by James Monroe Dunn, Jr., David Sipes’ great-great grandfather. The land was given as a wedding gift by the bride’s father. Through examining old farm record books in our possession we find that the early farm produced and traded cattle, hogs, chickens, ducks, eggs, butter, honey, hay and oats.
